Hampton Photo, Art and Framing

Sometimes all you need is quick snapshot. Other times you are looking for much more. Serious photographers understand the art behind their favorite endeavor, and how important it is for their photo processors to share their commitment to perfection in all aspects of the craft.

At Hampton Photo, Arts and Framing, we are artists, and we understand what it takes to create a true work of art. Our fine art printing services are second to none, and we are sure you will agree once you have seen all the great things we have to offer.

Only As Good as the Paper
As a photographer, you understand the importance of perfecting every single shot, from choosing the right lighting to selecting and posing your subjects with the utmost care. But creating those one-of-a-kind digital images is only half the battle. The other half is making sure those images make their way on to the paper without reducing the impact or the artistic beauty they possess.

At Hampton Photo, Arts and Framing, we understand that the images we produce are only as good as the paper we use, and that is why we use only the finest quality materials to create your unique works of art. When you bring us your best digital images, you can be assured that we will treat your artistic visions with the utmost care. We are photographers ourselves, and we understand better than most the artistry and technique that takes place behind the camera. With our fine art printing, we strive to bring your artistic vision out from behind the camera lens and put it on the printed page.

We are dedicated to helping the photographers in our community and around the world be as successful as they can be. That is why we stock a wide variety of professional quality photo papers for all your fine art printing needs. We have a number of different sizes, from standard size prints, all the way up to 40” x 60” poster size prints for your special works of art.

Choose Your Style
As photographers, we understand the importance of matching the paper you use to the effect you are trying to achieve. That is why we stock a variety of different photo paper for our fine art printing clients, including glossy paper, matte finishes, pastel paper and watercolor paper for all your photo printing needs.

We also stock a variety of fine art paper, including high white cotton fine art paper, simple bond paper and kraft paper. We can also print your finest images on our special silk pages, at sizes up to 16” x 20”. We can even put your best images on canvas, lending an artistic appearance to all your fine photographs and creating a depth and clarity that viewers will not soon forget.

The Latest Equipment
The world of photography has always been a place for the latest technology, but the pace of change has increased rapidly in recent years. Not too long ago, all serious photographers were still shooting with 35mm film, and those newfangled digital cameras were simply the tools of the point-and-shoot crowd.

How quickly things have changed. These days digital SLR cameras are as common among professional photographers as they are among weekend amateurs, and all of those photographers understand the importance of using the right equipment. From the lens on the end of your camera to the type of light meter you use, you want to make sure all of your equipment is state-of-the-art.

We feel the same way when the time comes to transfer those precious works of art from your camera to the paper. That is why we use only the best equipment when we print your photographs. We know that you understand the difference, and we strive to meet – and exceed – your expectations.

We invite you to look around our website and see what we have to offer. Once you do, we are sure you will choose us for all your fine art printing needs. At Hampton Photo,Arts , we are proud to bring more than 20 years of experience to the artistry you know so well, and we are proud of the fine photographers who help to make us so successful in what we do.

Art of Photography

Art of PhotographyPhotography is an amazing art form. A photograph album is a catalogue of life's history as seen through the camera. People, animals, nature, holidays, celebrations and even disasters are captured instantly and recorded as part of history. It is through the powerful presentations of photography that we better understand the progression of time and life. Hampton Photo Arts has over twenty years of experience working with photographers as they seek to capture and preserve the history of families and communities.

When families get together, both children and adults love to look through photograph albums. They enjoy seeing the childhood photos of older family members and compare themselves to ancestors who lived a hundred or more years ago. Photos are among the most important treasures of every family. They should not be faded and dull. They contain the smiles, tears and emotions of generations. The staff members at Hampton Photo Arts display excellence in the art of photography reproduction. They work with the highest quality materials. They know how to create family memories that will be just as beautiful one hundred years from now as they are today.

Learning to Paint Watercolors

Watercolor is an easy, fun medium for creating art.  Color theory, composition and design can be explored freely with watercolor paint, paper, and brushes.  Several techniques may be used with watercolors for varying effects including painting wet on wet, wet on dry, layering washes, and more.

Watercolor paper comes in cold press, hot press, and rough.  Rough paper has the most texture, and its hills and valleys can result in interesting effects when paint is added.  Hot press is the smoothest and has the finest texture.  Cold press has a moderate amount of texture and is the paper most commonly chosen by watercolor artists.

Watercolor paper comes in several weights ranging from 90 lb. to 300 lb. based on the pounds per ream of paper.  Most artists prefer to use at least 140 lb. paper.  Papers vary somewhat between manufacturers, so sampling different papers is advisable.  Paper can be purchased in pads, in blocks or in large sheets.  The large sheets are usually the most economical and can be torn into whatever size is desired.
